Parang La trek takes you through the verdant beauty of Spiti Valley. Here is a nine-day long adventure expedition to Parang La from Kaza, the beautiful starting point which is really suitable for a perfect commencement of such an expedition. In the first lap of the trek, Kibber at an altitude of 14000 feet and century’s old Ki monastery will be the ideal place to explore and after crossing many narrow river gorges you will reach Dumla. The quite tough and demanding phase of the trek comes when you move from Thaltak Meadow to Jagtha and from there to Bomgrojen.The fourth day of the trek sees the main stretches of this exciting adventure when you prepare to climb the summit up. From the top, you may find the impressive beauty of Spiti Valley highly influential on yourself. From the top, with the glimpses of the verdant valley, walk down to the famous Pare Chu River and from there, you will move enthusiastically toward Dak Karzong. As you continue the trek, you will come to conquer the flat paths reaching up to Racholamo Valley and from then onward, there will be easy downhill ways to reach Norbu Sumdo. You will get to cross a river beyond Norbu Sumdo to reach Chumik Shilde.
Tso Moriri Lake and a walk across the banks of it would be the most extravagant highlight of this trek. Then you will visit the beautiful old, Korzok Monastery too before you wind up the undeniable trails of Parang La. This trek can be one of the superb ways of rediscovering the untouched valleys of Spiti and Himalayas.
About the Destination:
The Parang La Pass Trek that passes to the scenic valleys of Ladakh is one of the most popular trekking trails in the Ladakh-Spiti valley. Offering astounding views of the towering mountains and the snow-clad peaks. Though scenic all the ways, the Parang La trek originates from the Kara hamlet and continues till Karkoza. It starts gaining altitude as it makes its way through Spiti Valley and finally takes the trekkers to the Tso Moriri Lake.

Pass through the high altitude village popular for spotting of the highly enigmatic and elusive snow leopard and then slowly take some steep turns. Early morning drive for an hour and trek starts to – Thaltak (4550 mtrs) 5-6 hours trek. Overnight at camp.
♦Day 4 ♦ Thaltak – Jugthang (4850 mtrs)
5 hours trek. Overnight at camp.
♦Day 5 ♦ Jugthang – Parang La – Karsha Gongma
Jugthang – Parang La (5600 mtrs height) – Karsha Gongma (4800 mtrs) -7 hours trek. Overnight at camp.
♦Day 6 ♦ Karsha Gongma – Dokpa Phirtse
Karsha Gongma – Dokpa Phirtse (4700 mtrs) – 5 hours trek. Overnight at camp.
♦Day 7 ♦ Dokpa Phirtse - RachoLamo
Dokpa Phirtse – RachoLamo (4600 mtrs) - 5 hours trek. Overnight at camp.
♦Day 8 ♦ RachoLamo – Norbu Sumdo
RachoLamo – Norbu Sumdo (4400 mtrs) – 4/5 hours trek. Overnight at camp.
♦Day 9 ♦ Norbu Sumdo - Kyangdam
Norbu Sumdo – Kyangdam (4550 Mtrs) 7 hours trek. Overnight at camp.
♦Day 10 ♦ Kyangdam – Tsomoriri - Korzok
Kyangdam – Tsomoriri (4573 mtrs) – Korzok (4500 mtrs) – 6 hours. Trek ends. Overnight at camp.
♦Day 11 ♦ Korzok – Leh
Korzok – Leh (3505 mtrs) – 7 hours drive.
